Summit Brewing Company is one of the most popular breweries in the St. Paul area, brewing a wide selection of popular beers, like the Summit Extra Pale Ale. It is sometimes mistakenly believed to be a microbrewery, even though Summit’s output is in the top 50 of breweries in the United States, with approximately 129,000 barrels of beer produced in 2015, and a capacity of 240,000 barrels per year. Although a newer brewery to open in St. Paul, BlackStack is already making waves in the area. The company offers four flagship beers BlackStack, including Punch Press, inspired by De Koninck Brewery in Antwerp, Belgium; Ratify White Beer; Spare Parts, a dark lager; and Local 755, a Northeast IPA. The taproom occupies a gigantic, 20,000 square feet area, located in the same building as the quirky gaming destination, Can Can Wonderland. Once you grab a beer, head over for some mini-golf, arcade games and more!

The Burning Brothers Brewing motto is “Don’t Fear the Beer”. They brew their beer in a dedicated gluten-free facility, meaning the beer is crafting using completely gluten-free grains, never containing wheat, barley or rye. Opened in 2014, Insight Brewing has quickly become a local hotspot for craft beer. With a focus on a no-frills brewing process, the company produces a line of signature beers that offer unique combinations of high-quality ingredients. Wabasha Brewing Company and Taproom is St. Paul’s first craft brewery on the west side of the city, located in close proximity to the Wabasha Caves. Opened in August 2016, the Wabasha taproom features brick walls, hardwood floors and tin ceilings that are all original to the building. The large, 22-foot bar is made of dark reclaimed barn wood for southern Wisconsin, adding to the rustic, reclaimed atmosphere. The taproom has a capacity of 61 people and features a pergola-style patio which gives lets visitors enjoy their beers out in the fresh air; during the non-winter months, that is. The warm and inviting space also features an art wall that showcases local artists in support of St. Paul’s art community.
